Wheatherman Said
The Weatherman Said
Blustery, bombastic, selling for all they're worth,
the weathermen proclaim "it's raining outside."
Not only is it raining, it may continue to rain
for ten minutes or so, dampening the earth,
cooling the day, slowing the pace as umbrellas rise
and puddles appear around which pedestrians walk
and which cars spear viciously raising curtains of water
as they speed by, secure in their containment.
"It's raining outside", and dry inside
we watch the windows, wavy and curtained
with flowing raindrops. "Don't go out, dear,"
we quietly caution. "It will stop in a minute.
The weatherman said so."

What da weatherman sed
couple months too late
(thought your blog was dead
when'd ya resuscitate?)
let it rain in june
let the lightning flash
let the thunder roar
it will end real soon
let the clouds blot out
the blue of the sky
as the gray storm blast
knocks the power lines down
the computers are out
and the radio dies
and i sit outside
as the wet winds rise
now the storm arrives
to drown our town
but it won't last long
as the sky turns blue
let the sun bake the dust
for the birds to bathe
(contin)
as they flap and scuffle
in the heat in the shade
let it rain in june
it will end real soon
